ABOUT MRS. FILBIN
This is my 8th year as the St. Francis librarian, but I have been at the school for quite a while, as my four children are SFX graduates. St. Francis has a special place in my heart, and I am so fortunate to be able to work in a such a dynamic and faith-filled environment. My goal as the Library /LRC teacher is to make reading FUN for our students and encourage them to become lifelong readers and learners.
Additionally, the LRC will be a place of discovery, as we use various print and digital resources to conduct research. I am an avid reader myself, and received a BA in English from St. Mary's College in South Bend, IN and an MA in English Literature from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
Before coming to SFX as the librarian, I taught high school English, subbed at SFX, and spent a year working in the library at Lyons Township High School.
I really enjoy hanging out with family and friends and traveling. Below is a recent picture of my family, along with our dog Fritz, who you may see me walkingaround the streets of LaGrange Park.
Go Falcons!! Here's to a great year ahead.
We Pray, We Learn, We Serve, WE READ!!
